Intuit to acquire Constant Contact for $700mm

February 5th, 2010 · 2 Comments

Ok — this isn’t true. But, here are some thoughts on why this could make sense:

Intuit is focused on small businesses with a financial bent (think TurboTax, Quicken).
Constant Contact is focused on micro/small businesses but from the marketing side.
Constant Contact is dipping into the SMB payment side with their event marketing / registration product. This [...]

July 18th, 2009 · 1 Comment

This Friday afternoon, I recruited a couple Brontos to put together a video tour of our flagship email marketing application.
Big thanks go [...]

About a year ago, I purchased NetNewsWire for the Mac. It is a standalone desktop application and was an easy way [...]

NetNewsWire and Feedburner

March 16th, 2007 · No Comments

I have been using RSS feeds for a couple years now and really find them handy for skimming through lots of news articles very quickly. Until now, I always added them as “Live Bookmarks” in Firefox. It worked well and was a convenient way to juggle about 10 different feeds.
Today my feed world changed in [...]

Seychelles on Google Earth

February 25th, 2007 · No Comments

Yesterday I downloaded Google Earth and found myself immediately zooming around the world checking out all the places where I used to live and a few others that I have yet to explore.
The yellow pin on this screenshot of Google Earth is where I used to teach in the Seychelles — 8826.02 miles away. Although [...]
