Fiest, New Pornographers and Arctic Monkeys

I’m not much of a music nut but I do try to refresh my music now and again. Back in high school, I was a hard rock fan. Van Halen reigned supreme. I still find nothing better than a good listen to 5150 or 1984 to get pumped up. I love Van Halen and Van Hagar equally!Later in college, my roommate gave me a proper introduction to Led Zeppelin, which was a pleasant change from my Pink Floyd CDs that were getting tiresome. Given it was the early 90s, the scene turned grunge and Pearl Jam and Nirvana were usually played. After graduation, I lived in Seychelles, a smaller version of Jamaica, so reggae and raggamuffin became favorite genres. Now, outside of Barney / Dora and other favorites from the kids, I try to discover something new and fresh to get into. I stumbled upon a few lately that fit the bill:

Give them listen and let me know if you have any other recommendations. I am always looking for something good.

Joe,
I like these picks and they definitely lead toward an Indy music feel. I would suggest checking out these groups as well (TV on the Radio, Silversun Pickups, Blonde Redhead). On a little more of the Jam/Rock scene I highly suggest checking out some Tea Leaf Green. I came across them about a year ago and have loved everything since.
Happy Listening!
